Doctrinal Statement |
Concerning the Holy Scriptures: We
believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter
1:19-21)
Concerning God: We believe that there is one God and that in the unity of the Godhead is three persons:
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19-20)
Concerning Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God in innocence, but that he
voluntarily sinned, incurring physical death and spiritual death which is separation from God. All human beings are born with
a sinful nature, and are sinners in thought, word, and deed. (Romans 2:1-3)
Concerning the Person and Work of Christ: We believe that
the Lord Jesus Christ became flesh, born of the Virgin Mary, he died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice and that
all who believes in Him as personal Savior, are born-again and are justified on the grounds of His shed blood alone: that
Jesus Christ arose again from the dead on the third day in the body in which He had been crucified and he ascended into Heaven
in the same body, glorified, where He ever liveth to intercede for the Believer. (I Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:10-11; John 1:1-14;
Hebrews 7:25)
Concerning
the Person and the Work of the Holy Spirit: We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, equal with
God the Father and God the Son. He restrains the evil one and convicts of sin. He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel
and is the agent of the new birth. He seals, baptizes, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sacrifices, and helps the Believer.
(John 14:16-17; John 16:7-11; Ephesians 1:12-14; Titus 3:5)
Concerning Salvation: We believe that the Salvation of sinners is by grace,
that sinner must be born again: a new creature in Christ Jesus; that one dead in trespasses and sins is made a partaker of
the divine nature and receives eternal life, a free gift of God, not of any works of righteousness which we have done,
but through faith in the Redeemer's blood; that the evidence of Salvation is seen in repentance, faith, and newness of life.
(2 Cor. 5:17; John 1:12; John 3:16)
Concerning Resurrection: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just to everlasting life
in Heaven and the unjust to everlasting separation from God in Hell. (Rev. 20:14-15; John 1:12; John 3:16)
Concerning the Second Coming Of The Lord Jesus Christ: We
believe in the blessed hope, the personal, premillenial (pretribulation) and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ, that
all Believers will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, before He appears in visible form to set up His kingdom on the
Earth. (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Zechariah 14:4) |
